Giostra is one of the oldest proceedings of the Zakynthian Carnival accompanied by dances and the famous Omilies (street theatre). It is a series of horse races where the contestants aimed to win a silver sword for first place and a pair of silver spurs for second along with the honor of a lady for which the whole race was held. The resurrection of this tradition helps develop the cooperation between Greece and Italy as well as keep these unique traditions alive.
You are all invited to this festival of colours, dances and beautiful horses.
